There’s so many similarities that I find between my Military career and my bodybuilding passion. It wasn’t until last year that I earned my first ever first place in the NPC. Prior to that I had 3 other shows were I fell short. Was it due to lack of effort? Lack of drive? Absolutely not. Those who know me know when it comes to bodybuilding I give it my all. But here’s the thing, I’m not the only one putting the high quality effort. There are others grinding too. All it does is help me push myself harder to get that W, and last year it finally happened. Praise God for that.
This week results for E-7 or Master Sergeant were released. Unfortunately I did not make the cut. Was it due to lack of effort? Lack of drive? Lack of commitment? Lack of wanting it bad enough. I assure you it was none of the above. I gave it my absolute all, but apparently others gave a tad bit more. Just like in bodybuilding I’m headed back to the drawing board. And we just continue to work. Everything happens in Gods timing. Am I disappointed considering the effort? Sure. But am I defeated? Absolutely NOT. I do apologize to all those mentors and leaders that were looking for my name. But please know that I put in the work and just fell short. For that im truly sorry. Let’s enjoy this Memorial Day weekend. And Tuesday we back to the grind! I praise you God through my successes and also through my failures!
