Do you think 107 years from now someone will hold a phone in their hands and picture what life was like in 2019? I guess they will...I think about things like this a lot.
Today while thrift shopping we found a book printed in 1902 with an inscription inside “to Will & Violet from Sister Mary 1912” I immediately said, we were holding a book given to two children 107 years ago! I flipped through the pages as if they held secrets inside, something magical. Where had this book travelled. How many people read this very book? I am fascinated when I can hold something so beautifully made that stands the test of time.
In 1912 the Titanic went down.
I sat at my computer and read the events throughout the year if 1912. I was overwhelmed with the massive hardships but also accomplishments and discoveries. Humans have come so far and yet we still have so much to learn and teach each other.
I hold this book to honour the past. To not forget what our fellow humans on this earth have lived and sacrificed. This book is a piece of art. A treasure that survived longer then most of us will ever live. It reminds me to live a full life. To make beautiful things. To cherish the moments that make our hearts whole.
Yes, holding a book in my hands made in 1902 truly inspires me.
Inspiration comes to us in all forms, flooding in and out of our lives waiting to be seen and heard.... look for it! It’s all around you!
